Technical file and material order · 2026

Aluminium windows and French doors for a Biot renovation.

This Biot renovation file combines tilt-and-turn windows and two-panel aluminium French doors in RAL 8016. Technical discussions cover dimensions by item, opening directions and installation preparation alongside masonry repairs.

The technical file, updated in October 2026, distinguishes similarly sized sashes and the hardware assigned to each. A material order confirmation followed in November. These documents record the preparation for manufacturing.

The stakes of the study

What this file helps to prepare.

Prepare window and French door replacement while accurately tracking dimensions, opening actions and connections to the building.

Dimensions tracked opening by opening

The French doors measuring 2 165 and 2 170 mm remain two separate items. For your renovation, this prevents a dimension from one opening being applied to another that looks identical.

Ventilation and privacy in the same project file

The tilt-and-turn action and Delta Mat glazing are identified separately, allowing ventilation and privacy requirements to be specified for each room.

Installation coordinated with masonry

Removal, supporting structure condition and repairs are planned alongside the new windows. These interfaces determine the connections and finishes to include in the quote.

01 · From choice to detail

Distinguish dimensions, even when they are close.

French doors of the same width can have different heights. The file distinguishes 2 165 mm and 2 170 mm: profile cutting lengths and glass dimensions must follow the correct item reference. This is checked before manufacturing, without automatically grouping similar openings.

02 · From choice to detail

Check opening direction and hardware.

The discussions also require opening directions to be distinguished and the viewing convention on the drawings to be specified. Stays, hinges and operating components are prepared for the selected opening action. Frosted glazing on certain sashes is also identified individually.

03 · From choice to detail

Coordinate windows with preparation of the supporting structure.

The project is described as a renovation without insulation, coordinating removal of the old windows, masonry and the proposed fixing arrangement. Dimensions alone are therefore insufficient: the supporting structure, connections and finishes all form part of preparation.

From the study to our Valbonne workshop

From site survey to frame ready for assembly.

For a renovation comparable to Biot, project item references guide cutting of the outer-frame and sash profiles. In Valbonne, the FOM double-head saw prepares cutting lengths and angles; dimensions and squareness are then checked during assembly. Dimensional tracking therefore follows manufacturing through to installation preparation.
